Endeavor Health Glenbrook Hospital is a 173-bed community hospital on Pfingsten Road with a full emergency department, the Kellogg Cancer Center, cardiovascular and neuroscience institutes, and the Walter Center for Urological Health in the ambulatory building next door. For most Glenview residents, it is the hospital.

But Glenbrook is part of a larger system, and complex cases move. Evanston Hospital, a few miles east, is Endeavor Health's Level I trauma center, and some surgeries and admissions are done there even for patients whose doctors are at Glenbrook. Skokie Hospital, to the southeast, is another Endeavor campus with a large orthopedic program. A Glenview patient can be seen at one campus, operated on at another and followed up at a third.

Each of those moves is a ride, and they tend to be the ones families struggle with: a stretcher transfer that has to happen at a set time, or a discharge from Evanston to home when the patient cannot yet get into a car. Outpatient visits are simpler, but the campus layout matters. Glenbrook's hospital and ambulatory building have separate entrances, so we ask which building your appointment is in and drop you at that door, not the one across the parking lot.
