Best For
- Appointments with unpredictable end times (specialist visits, ER follow-ups)
- Discharge from a hospital or surgical center
- Physical therapy or rehabilitation sessions that vary in length
- Any visit where you don’t know exactly when you’ll be done
How It Works
- 1Book your outbound ride as usual (scheduled or otherwise).
- 2When your appointment ends, call (708) 505-6994 or use our app.
- 3We dispatch the nearest available driver to your location.
- 4Typical wait time is 30–45 minutes depending on your area.
Pro tip: Will Call is the most popular return option for specialist visits and outpatient procedures where treatment length varies each session.
Wait and Return
Your driver stays on-site for a seamless round trip
With Wait and Return, your driver remains on-site for the duration of your appointment. As soon as you’re done, you walk out and your ride is right there waiting.
Best For
- Short appointments (30–90 minutes) like blood draws or quick check-ups
- Patients who feel anxious about waiting for a return ride
- Locations where cell service is unreliable for a Will Call
- Trips where timing is critical and any wait is unacceptable
How It Works
- 1Select “Wait and Return” when booking your round trip.
- 2Your driver takes you to the appointment and stays on-site.
- 3The wait time is included in your trip pricing (hourly rate applies).
- 4When you’re done, your driver assists you back to the vehicle immediately.
Pro tip: Wait and Return is priced with an hourly waiting fee. For appointments under 90 minutes, it’s often the most convenient and cost-effective round-trip option.
Common Questions About Trip Options
Can I mix pickup types on a round trip?
Yes. Many patients use a Scheduled Pickup for the outbound leg and Will Call for the return. You can choose different options for each leg when booking.
What if my appointment runs longer than expected on Wait and Return?
No problem. Your driver will continue to wait. The additional time is billed at the standard hourly waiting rate. There are no surprise charges — we’ll keep you informed.
How quickly does a driver arrive on Will Call?
Typical dispatch time is 30–45 minutes depending on your location and fleet availability. In high-density service areas, it can be faster.
Can I change my pickup type after booking?
Yes. Call us at (708) 505-6994 at least 2 hours before your scheduled pickup to modify your trip option at no extra charge.
Which option is cheapest?
Scheduled Pickup and Will Call have the same base pricing. Wait and Return includes an hourly waiting fee. For short appointments, Wait and Return can still be cost-effective since you avoid a separate return trip dispatch.
Do all vehicle types support every trip option?
Yes. Scheduled Pickup, Will Call, and Wait and Return are available across ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher vehicles.
