Dream Care Rides provides licensed, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) in Harvey, IL, just 10 min from our Olympia Fields headquarters. We offer ambulatory sedan transport, ADA-compliant wheelchair-accessible vans, and stretcher vehicles for patients who must travel lying down. Our CPR-certified drivers serve UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Ingalls Outpatient Center, and 4 additional medical facilities throughout the Cook County area.
Harvey is home to UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital — one of Dream Care Rides' most-served facilities. Our drivers transport patients to and from Ingalls multiple times every day and know every entrance, loading zone, and department in the building. At just 10 minutes and 5 miles from our headquarters, Harvey patients get rapid dispatch and drivers who treat Ingalls Memorial like a second home.
To book a medical ride from Harvey, call (708) 505-6994 or schedule online at dreamcarerides.com/booking. We are primarily a private-pay provider. Medicaid accepted in select service areas — call (708) 505-6994 to check availability. We coordinate with discharge planners and case managers for facility-to-home and facility-to-facility transfers. Service is available seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Harvey, Illinois has one of the highest rates of transportation-dependent residents in Cook County. According to U.S. Census data, over 15 percent of Harvey households lack a personal vehicle — more than double the Cook County average. For residents who need regular medical appointments at Ingalls Memorial Hospital or specialist care at UChicago Medicine downtown, the absence of reliable transportation is not an inconvenience — it is a barrier to survival.
Public transit from Harvey to downtown Chicago hospitals requires two to three CTA and Pace transfers and takes 90 or more minutes each way on a good day. For a wheelchair user, a post-surgical patient recovering from a hip replacement, or a dialysis patient who just completed a four-hour session, that journey is not a viable option. The physical demands of navigating bus transfers, waiting at unsheltered stops, and walking between connections make public transit functionally inaccessible for many of the patients who need medical transport most.
Harvey's economic challenges over the past two decades have compounded this access gap. The closure of local medical facilities and the consolidation of services at fewer, larger hospitals means Harvey residents must travel farther for care than they did a generation ago. UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital on Ingalls Drive has become the lifeline for Harvey and surrounding communities, providing emergency services, surgical care, oncology treatment, and a growing network of outpatient specialty clinics. But reaching Ingalls from the south or west side of Harvey still requires transportation that many residents do not have.
Dream Care Rides serves Harvey more frequently than any other NEMT provider because our headquarters is just 10 minutes away in Olympia Fields. When a Harvey resident calls (708) 505-6994, the response time is measured in minutes, not hours. Our drivers know the Harvey street grid intimately — they know which blocks have construction detours, which intersections back up during school hours, and which hospital entrances to use for different types of patients. For Harvey families navigating the healthcare system with limited resources, having a reliable, affordable NEMT provider based in the next town over makes the difference between keeping medical appointments and falling through the cracks.
💡 Local Insight
154th Street through Harvey has frequent road construction and lane closures near the Ingalls campus. Our drivers use the Sibley Blvd approach from the west for more reliable arrival times at Ingalls Memorial.

🚐 NEMT Drop-off Instructions
Main patient entrance on Ingalls Drive — the NEMT loading zone is the circular drive directly in front of the lobby. Pull into the circle, stop at the canopy, and the patient enters through the automatic doors into the main lobby. For ER discharges, use the Emergency Department exit on the east side of the building where discharge staff will wheel patients out to the covered pickup area. For stretcher pickups, coordinate with the nursing station at least 30 minutes prior so the patient is ready at the ambulance bay on the east wing.

Harvey is just 10 minutes and 5 miles from our headquarters in Olympia Fields, making it one of our most frequently served cities. UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is the anchor — our drivers transport patients there multiple times every single day, and they know the facility inside and out. They know to use the Ingalls Drive circular drive for ambulatory drop-offs, the east-side ER exit for discharge pickups, and the ambulance bay for stretcher transports. When you call (708) 505-6994 from Harvey, your driver is 10 minutes away, not 40 minutes from a downtown Chicago dispatch. For dialysis patients at DaVita Harvey on Halsted Street or Fresenius on 154th Street, we offer standing-order scheduling. Set it up once and your rides are automatic for every session. No need to call each time, no worrying about whether your ride will show up. We will be there. Private-pay booking is simple and transparent — call (708) 505-6994 or book at dreamcarerides.com/booking for an upfront price with no broker fees. See our full rate schedule at dreamcarerides.com/rates. Compared to Medicaid broker-dispatched rides that may assign a driver from the north side of Chicago who has never been to Harvey, our drivers know the Halsted Street corridor, the Ingalls campus, and the south suburban hospital network. Chicago-based NEMT providers dispatch from 25+ miles away and charge the mileage to prove it. We dispatch from 5 miles out, saving Harvey patients real money on every trip.
