Endeavor Health Elmhurst Hospital left its longtime home near the center of town in 2011 and reopened as a new, much larger campus on Brush Hill Road at the city's south end. Longtime residents still sometimes plan around the old location. For Elmhurst patients the hospital is now a drive rather than a walk for many, and specialty care often sends them a few miles east to Loyola in Maywood or south to Hinsdale.

Elmhurst's Hospital Moved South
In June 2011 Elmhurst Memorial opened a new acute care hospital on Brush Hill Road, on the south side of the city, replacing its older site closer to downtown. Today it operates as Endeavor Health Elmhurst Hospital, with the Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center, cardiovascular, neuroscience and orthopedic institutes, and a labor and delivery unit on one campus.
The move changed how people get there. The new campus is larger and easier to drive to, with free valet at several entrances, but for residents in the north end of Elmhurst it is now a real trip, not a quick hop. Older riders who used to walk or get dropped off downtown now need a ride that knows the campus layout.
Elmhurst is also a crossroads for specialty care. Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, a few miles east, handles transplant, burn and complex cancer cases. UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale is to the south. Gottlieb Memorial in Melrose Park is northeast. An Elmhurst patient may use all four in a single year.
We treat those as one service area. The driver who takes you to Elmhurst Hospital on Monday may take you to Loyola on Thursday, and both trips are priced the same way, per leg, before you book.
