Steger is one of the villages closest to the office our dispatchers work from. Olympia Fields sits a few miles north up Chicago Road and Western Avenue, and most mornings a driver is already in the area before your pickup time. That shortens the wait when a clinic runs late and you need a ride home sooner than planned.

The village has no hospital of its own. For most Steger households the nearest campus is Franciscan Health Olympia Fields on Crawford Avenue, which handles emergency care, cancer treatment, heart and vascular work and surgery. Cardiology and stroke follow-ups often go to Advocate South Suburban in Hazel Crest, and cancer or orthopaedic referrals to UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial in Harvey. Steger Road is the county line, and about a third of the village sits on the Will County side.
